This was the first book I read on Kindle via my iPhone. I am surprised at how much I enjoyed using Kindle and the benefits (highlighting, notes, search, and being able to read via my desktop computer too) if affords.

As for the book, I am pleased with it and recommend it to persons who enjoy reading autobiographies, especially about persons associated with the Stone-Campbell religious heritage.

W. Carl Ketcherside (b. 1908) was converted to an especially conservative segment of the churches of Christ and was one of its defenders/debaters until he had a type of “Damascus experience” (my term) while on a visit to Ireland at the age of 40. Ketcherside wrote that he heard Jesus knocking at the door of his heart and for the first time, invited Jesus to come in. From that time on, Ketcherside devoted himself to bringing Christians together, especially those of the Stone-Campbell heritage.

Much of the book draws upon material that was documented in the “Mission Messenger” monthly publication that Ketcherside produced for 37 years. Readers should be aware that the book is not new, although the Kindle edition is dated 2009. Much of it was published in installments in the “Restoration Review” between 1976 and 1981. The College Press hardbound copy was published in 1991.

I enjoyed the autobiography so much that I've purchased Ketcherside's book, The Twisted Scriptures, also in the Kindle format.
