I have always been fascinated with the Russian Royal family, especially Nicholas & Alexandra. In this interesting pop-up book a few of the Fabergé jewelry masterpieces, made by the goldsmith to the last Russian Czars, are beautifully depicted and described in three-dimensional splendor. My favorite pop-up is the Kelch Hen Egg which was a gift from a Siberian mining magnate to his wife. The enamel egg opens to a white and yolk, open the yolk to find a tiny enameled hen, open the hen to find a tiny bejeweled frame, yes all done in paper!… (mere)

Well written with amazing characters. Truly an enjoyable read you will not want to pass.
