I'm surprised by the low ratings for this book. I wanted a good rip-roaring pirate yarn and that's exactly what I got. Looking forward to the next installment in the series!
Starts off promisingly but drags on and on and on, and never really gets going. Some decent scenes that would've made nice short stories, but poor as an overall novel.
It says on the back that it will appeal to those who read hornblower or sharp. Like both of those but this one just left me cold, this may be because it is part of a series that I have not read.
I may at some time look for the start of the series but am not feeling that impressed to try.
The book is based on the antagonism between a brittish ship captain and a pirate who used to be part of his crew.
