- Claudia Taylor acquired the nickname "Lady Bird" in infancy and was always known by it for the rest of her life. She married Lyndon Baines Johnson in 1934 and the couple had two daughters who were each given names with the initials LBJ. She promoted the Highway Beautification Act and Head Start while she was First Lady.
