A tender story looking back on a full and interesting life, and the family relationships both enjoyed and endured, remembered via pressed flowers in a journal.

In a world of the not-too-distant future, the elderly work until they drop, while the young boss them around, the rich escape to a finer place, and the poor shop, likewise until they drop. It’s a miserable place, filled with smog and shoddy workmanship, but what can you expect, the way we’ve failed to care for it.

Ronnie Ray Jenkin’s short story, Lab Rats from Planet Earth, doesn’t stop there though, and there’s a haunting surprise and sting in its twisting tail. Such a shame we didn’t turn out to be intelligent after all...

A short, fun, thought-provoking read, that just might leave you wanting to change something.

Disclosure: I picked it up when it was free.

A woman whose heart hardened long ago, maneuvered into marriage for her own good to a man who could never be good for her; a bleeding heart plant tucked away at the back of the nursery lot and destined to die; together they heal each other in Ronnie Ray Jenkins’ magical short story. Meanwhile the reader sees how a broken heart might search through memories for the moment of its hurt and find “forever.”
A fairytale perhaps for grown-ups, a lovely picture of love, and a delightful short story, I really enjoyed reading this inspiring little fable with its wounded protagonist and promise of hope.

Disclosure: I was lucky enough to find this when it was free.

I loved this book! It is a great read. The characters are believable in every way. You've seen them in your own neighborhood I am betting. Never read a book by this author before. Hope he writes more. (Have to look to see if he has any others, I don't know at the moment.) He describes places in the book quite nicely, you can conjure them up in a sec with his words. I didn't want it to end! Maybe a sequel, find out what ole' Cuffy is up to later in life? :) It might remind you of being in high school, it did me. Most definitely recommend this book.

Happy Easter everyone! I read this book with fascination...the characters come to life in such a way that you feel as though you are actually in Flynn City. The story line is fantastic with a great deal of humor. It's a great Easter Story and one definitely worth reading! The Flynn City Egg Man Love my Kindle PC and the ease with which you can purchase books on Amazon. Anxiously awaiting this author's next masterpiece!!
