In book 2 in the Deerbourne Inn series, Hope Kildaire has given up her dreams of becoming a nurse practitioner to take care of wonderfully sweet but handicapped mother, Casey. She works two jobs, lives paycheck to paycheck, and only finds true happiness and enjoyment when she’s skiing, which works out since one of her jobs is as a ski instructor. Then she meets Tyler Coleson, a tourist in town for the winter season, and for the first time in years, she feels the spark of attraction for a man.
Tyler is a lawyer in town under false pretenses, and he needs Hope’s signature on a very important document. As he gets to know her and learns about her life, he realizes how empty is own life has become and that maybe it’s time for a change.
OMG! I loved Hope and Tyler. They’re smart, strong characters with real-life problems and concerns. They were very easy to relate to. Even though they started out as strangers, they instinctively trusted one another right off the bat. Romance bloomed in a fast, sweet way.
This is a fun, heartwarming, clean story. I got a little teary-eyed a few times when reading about Hope’s losses and the tough time she’s had. I really enjoyed this novella and look forward to reading more of Ms. Jaeger’s work.

In the first book in the Will Cook For Love series, professional chef Kandy Laine hosts an insanely popular cooking show and is the author of several bestseller cookbooks. Despite her fame, fortune, and quick rise to the top, she’s a generous and humble person, and she cares a lot for her family and the people who work for her. She’s also extremely rigid and stubborn in her over-heightened sense of responsibility in both her personal and professional life, and has drawn the ire of someone who works for her. After a few attempts on her life and threatening phone calls, Kandy’s cousin calls in help.
Private investigator Josh Keane takes the case. Though he’s attracted to Kandy from the start, he’s all business and wants to find the person threatening her. As her fulltime bodyguard, Josh and Kandy get to know one another on a personal level, both sharing some deep secrets. The lines between lust, love, and professionalism blur, and what Josh wants and needs to do are two different things. As the investigation moves forward, several possible suspects come to light, and Kandy’s carefully crafted world, her sense of self, and her resolute trust in her friends comes crashing down all around her.
Kandy and Josh are amazing, well-rounded, career-driven characters. I felt connected to both of them. The sexual chemistry between them sizzled even though they tried to keep their hands to themselves. There’s only one sex scene, but quite a few sexual starts and stops due to outside interruptions.
Kandy’s family is awesome. Her mother and aunts are wild, flirtatious, and fun—the best part of the book in my opinion. Her sisters are strong and protective.
I loved the scenes when Kandy was on the set of her show. The author must have done a ton of research in how to successfully run a TV show, and I found all that info very interesting.
The story ends with a HEA, but there are a few unanswered questions. Hopefully, they’ll be answered in book 2 of the series. I really enjoyed the author’s crisp, fun writing style. The story was fast-paced and kept my attention.
Overall, I loved this story and would like to read more in the series.

I've received a ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

What better way to set the holiday mood than reading this sizzling Christmas romance that could put anyone in a festive mood? Regina is the owner and baker of Angie's who tries to overcomes personal hardships: love, a devastating lost, and a overbearing old school Italian family. When Conner enters her bakery asking Regina to bake him a last minute cake for a charity event that not only sits close to home to her but Conner as well, a whirlwind romance ensures.

The engaging characters, the scorching chemistry between Regina and Conner and the wild antics of her family were so heartwarming that I seriously couldn't put this novel down. A definite must read!

Why did I pick this up knowing damn well I wasn't going to find much to like about it. I'm nothing but a damn masochist I tell you! Nevertheless there's not much to say about this. This instant love, mediocre romance, dull characters and most definitely forgettable read didn't hit any good spots. At all. I have pretty much ended up skimming… a lot so it's easy to see that this just wasn't for me.
