South African domestic cricket is a rather confusing and obscure mess to me; I read cricket history about Transvaal and Griqualand West but see current players from teams like "Eagles" and "Highveld Lions". "Northerns" is another side that I don't remember from the history books but it is apparently an amalgam of North-Eastern Transvaal and Northern Transvaal (As an aside, I note that the cover lists a "Northern-Eastern Transvaal").

The contents include a hand drawn map, always a delight, a brief introduction and statistics on all of the players to have played a first-class match for any of the myriad teams Northerns has as an ancestor.… (mere)
