the extinction of dinosaurs and its meaning to "fitness" as a concept
A book about the mechanics of evolution, with an explanation of how the composition of a population changes due to genetic drift, and to random chance. I found it very illuminating, and quite clear about the complexities of the theory. The devil is firmly established in the details here.
