Twins, Darcy and Bennett, haven't communicated with each other in five years but they come home to help Aunt Lulu recuperate. Aunt Lulu, a member of the Ladies Aid Society, is famous for her cookies baked for the Christmas festival but she always refused to share the recipes. It takes both Darcy and Bennett to remedy the cookie situation and forgive each other in doing so. Meanwhile, Darcy is attracted to the town's pastor and helps him to run the festival's play while Bennett falls for a talented decorator who put together the light show in town. So, there's a delightful double romance in this book, which is helped along by the Ladies Aid Society. I really enjoyed it. Quite a holiday treat!… (mere)

I enjoyed this book! Tessa had everything when disaster struck. Someone robbed her apartment and her father had a heart attack. She goes home to care for her dad and gets a job teaching in the same high school she attended as a student. There she sees her old nemesis, Ryland, who is now her colleague. He was in the NFL but now he is a single father who dotes on his daughter, Emma. Tessa befriends the child but remains skeptical about the father.

And then there's Joey, Ryland's best friend. Tessa had a crush on him in high school, but he became a well-known baseball player and was completely out of her orbit. Now he's back in her hometown and dating her.

Tessa wishes she could get back to writing, but her career as a ghostwriter crashed when her apartment was robbed of all her notes. Can she ever go back to the work she loved? And does she really love Joey?

A wonderful tale and well worth reading.

The sins of the parents often plague their children, and Charlotte finds herself in such a situation. With a half-sister, whom she loves and wants to protect, and uncertainty about exactly who she should trust, Charlotte tries to navigate the dangerous waters almost entirely on her own.

The FBI becomes involved escalating the danger for Charlotte and her half-sister. Mac Taylor, the general counsel for Charlotte and Georgie’s deceased father’s company tries to navigate the waters with her.

The author takes her readers through twists, turns, and danger through the pages of the book. She masterfully weaves a story designed to draw you in and want redemption for some characters and consequences for the actions of others.

If you enjoy Christian stories where characters find redemption through the saving grace of Jesus Christ along with southern charm and experiences along with a bit of romance along the way, check out this book for yourself. I definitely recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

The author delivers a very well written thriller complete with secrets, money laundering and suspects that slip through the cracks . Charlotte and Georgie are very different. They may be sisters but they have had a strained relationship. I was surprised at what was in the will that the sisters had to abide by. I was curious why the specific instructions called for them to reunite for one year in the same house. What started as a story of two sisters making amends becomes an all out race to save their lives.

Charlotte has upset someone because her life is continually in danger. I think after my car exploded I would be hiding far away from everyone I knew. She receives word that someone has been skimming money from her and I was shocked to find out who it was. The author gives us a little background on Charlotte’s past which is painful to read. You expect your mother to love and protect you but for Charlotte that is not the case. I was so angry when I found out what her mother had done. The emotional damage done to Charlotte has made her cold at times and caused to pull away from family.

Georgie is such a sweet character and I wanted her to be reunited with her sister. I really enjoyed reading how these two sisters worked on their relationship and faced danger together. Georgie is a lot more trusting than Charlotte which made it harder to mend their fractured relationship. There is faith throughout the story which helped the characters start to rely more on God.

I was surprised at the twists in the story with organized crime from Russia infiltrating the small town. It shows how greedy people can be and how they have no regard for others. The action is non stop and kept me guessing throughout the story. Not everyone can be trusted in this thriller and the ending was not what I expected at all. I loved the message of redemption and showing unconditional love by sacrificing one’s freedom to save another. Does that remind you of anyone?

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
