Tony Hays (1957–2015)

I really enjoy this series. Realistic treatment of early Briton and how Arthur might have established his rule. The seeds of trouble are here. Good characters, good interactions, good setting.

Another enjoyable entry in the series. Good feel for the people, politics, life of the time. Nice mystery.

I like historical mysteries anyway, but this is a good solid series. Arthur was a good leader, but his greatest strength was choosing good advisors. Malgwyn is faced with a choice between truth, justice, and the greater good at the end.

Nice mystery, does a good job of making the characters human and not mythic heroes. Malgwyn has potential as a protagonist. The settings feel realistic, the pacing is good.
