After reading this, my first impression was...this book could use some additional editing and revision. There were a few minor spelling mistakes, there's some abrupt scenes that could use some revision to help it transition better and more character development was definitely needed.
While Lex is the primary character, we do get to know him and understand his thirst for revenge. On the other hand, we never do get to find out why Peggy strayed, why Lex never questioned why she pursued an affair when they are supposedly in love or how they suddenly figure out another of the Cadet's weakness.
For a villain/superhero, we don't really get to know the Cadet that much, like where he came from, why he resorted to murdering his former lovers and how the council didn't see what was going on? There were loose ends and questions that didn't really get answered.
Overall, it was a decent read.… (mere)
