Jenna Harmke

This book is fabulous! It was written by a teenage girl, based on her personal experiences with hearing loss. It tells the story of Bessie the Bunny, and her journey to being able to hear better. It takes the scariness out of needing a hearing aid, and is a great tool for explaining to children, what being deaf or having hearing loss means. I would recommend teachers including this in their libraries, as it illustrates very simply, why some students need a hearing aid. Great book!
