This is a well-written solid novel in the Paranormal/Horror genre. As it opens, Daniel (Danny) Masenda is the successful and well-liked young mayor of a small town on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He receives a call from his uncle informing him that his mother, from whom he has been estranged for more than fourteen years, has passed away. He has not been in contact with her since finishing college, due to the repeated and violent abuse; both physical and emotional, which he suffered at her hands as a child and a teenager. There soon begins a series of visions and nightmares which include events of his life in the past and hallucinations (maybe) of a demon and other unearthly visitors trying to influence his thoughts and actions in the present.
A good read, with perhaps a bit too much repitition of some of the visions which haunt Daniel. Recommended for readers who like stories of the paranormal… (mere)
