Louisa goes missing from her unit on a light industrial estate, and Warren's team begin to investigate on the assumption she has been murdered. They discover various problems Louisa was having in her work and personal lives, and then find out that one of her university flatmates went missing a decade ago and has never been found.

This is very much a police procedural, and the reader follows all the theories the detectives pursue, investigate and reject along the way to solving the crime. At times this requires a degree of concentration! I like Warren and his colleagues, although there was perhaps a little less of their personal lives than in previous books in this series. The initial scenes describing Warren's living situation were well done.

I found the resolution to the story and the identity of the murderer logically satisfactory, although it did rely on one of the characters being mysteriously attractive to all the women he came into contact with.… (mere)
