Coming home to hide or feel safe is never a thing anyone can predict yet it is always the first place we turn when we need people who we trust and love to surround us in times of trouble. Madison comes home from her famous career as a country singer, under the guise of wanting to be there for her family after their traumatic fire incident she does want that, but she has a secret of her own and needs a safe place. She is full of pain, anger, betrayal, and so much loneliness her family is the only place she feels she can turn to, but after a few run ins with the guy she left behind, her pain becomes even more, and the loneliness intensifies. She has many regrets but never the one of chasing her dream but now her dream seems like it is tainted with heartache and heartbreak. Tate has never really gotten over Maddy and even if he tries nothing compares to what they had or could have had together, so when he sees her years after things fell apart, he first reaction is anger, then betrayal that’s leads him to realize he never got over her and doesn’t think he ever will. When secrets start to come into the light Madison leans on her family’s support to help her through, but when Tate finally finds out their love never stopped but is he only wanting to help out of pity, closure, or can they find a way back to what they had? When things start to get heated up between Tate and Madison, her career is also getting heated but not in the positive way. Can Tate stand by her side and help support her when things begin to get rough, or has too much time passed, and the anger festered? Tate and Madison have always been meant for each other and they always will, but they both must learn to forgive and move forward. This book deals with a subject that is sadly happening all the time and sometimes some people’s voices are never heard even when they deserve to be and this book handles the situation beautifully and delicately. Madison never deserved to feel scared, hurt, or afraid and I was proud of her when she decided to stand her ground let those that love her standby her and guide her. I also loved how Tate was with her after he learned the truth and it made me fall in love with him so much (don’t tell Harris). With every character that this author creates I immediately fall in love with each of them, the women who are strong but know when to allow help to the men who are beautiful, strong, protective and I think it is a beautiful thing when an author can create so many that readers automatically love and want to be a part of. In a world full of ugly there is always beauty, Madison found hers and I found mine in her strength and Tate’s love.
Random thoughts on the delicate subject that was handled beautifully in this book that I took away:
Someone should never be afraid to chase their dreams, never afraid to stand their ground for what they believe in or love, never afraid to speak up, never tore down for things not their fault, never afraid to be true to themselves ever.
They should always feel loved, safe, precious. They should have a person or family that they trust and love to be their support, always have a place that is their safe, always treated with compassion and understanding.

June is back in her hometown not really wanting to be in the place that holds her most hated memories, but she is out of options. She is out of a job and looking for something that she doesn’t expect is the guy that never stood up for her when she was being tortured in school to be actively trying to date her. Miles was the one that stood by while his friends tormented her, and she never forgave him for that, and she thinks he is constantly up to something to trick her. June harbors so much animosity on those that made her life miserable, but when she is forced to work with Miles, she starts to see a side of him that she never expected. Miles is a charming, hot, guy that comes from money and he has his sights set on June now that she has returned, but he has his work cut out for him. While Miles sees this beautiful smart woman, June can only see the hatred she has and the different life they both come from. June has issues with not only her past but the fact that a rich guy like Miles would ever be interested in her so it’s hard for her to trust and believe him. Will June learn to heal and start to see past wounds? Can she get over the fact that even if they come from different places their attraction is too much to resist? Will Miles do what it takes to show June he isn’t the guys he thinks but a real down to earth sweetheart? This story had me smiling throughout the whole thing waiting for them to figure themselves out and this undeniable chemistry they have. With a few twists here and there, there were moments that I felt sad for both and really wanted to reach out and hug them. This author is a miracle worker when it comes to creating these incredible stories with characters you can’t help but love and communities you want to be a part of. I can already tell this will be another hit series that we will all be falling in love with for a long time to come!… (mere)

Beautifully and emotionally perfection, this author knows how to write with all feelings bleeding from the pages to make the reader become part of the story. Brett Carlisle has suffered so much in recent years still grieving the death of his wife and recently his daughters were caught in a fire at the families winery. Even though everyone miraculously survived each of them are still hurting. The girls still have nightmares, they don’t know how to deal with the trauma, and poor Brett feels as if he is failing them. He is amazing dad that would do anything for his daughters, but he is slowly breaking down and pretending he has it all under control. The pain and regret he has can be felt coming off the pages because he was such an amazing father, yet felt his workaholic tendencies were taking time away from his girls and he carried so much guilt on himself. When Magnolia comes into their lives as the children’s therapist she actually hits Brett with some truth at first he doesn’t like it but then his guilt resurfaces and he can’t help but think she’s right. Magnolia can’t lost her job and the attraction with Brett makes things very difficult for her but she knows it’s a line that she cannot cross. Will their attraction but too much to fight or can they keep things professional for the sake of her career and the girls? Can Brett try to move forward while not forgetting the past but learning how to live his life or is he determined to carry his guilt always? I loved these wonderful characters, the family bond, and everything about Willow Creek that I hate to see it end but look forward to what is to come next.… (mere)
