I recently had the pleasure of immersing myself in the delightful devotional “Everyday Joys,” and the experience was so uplifting. From the moment I laid my eyes on the book, its exquisite appearance drew me in. The gold debossed title, complemented by nature-inspired cover art, showcases thoughtful attention to aesthetic detail.

I also like the book’s simplicity and organization. Each essay, spanning one to two pages, unfolds in a first-person narrative, allowing me to step into the author’s shoes. The inclusion of scripture verses, reflections, and prompting questions, coupled with space for personal responses, is also a plus.

But the heart of this devotional lies in its profound depth and purpose. It beautifully explores the art of finding joy in life’s seemingly mundane moments. I love how it encourages me to embrace challenges and discover opportunities for reflection, worship, and connection with God.

Christmas Is Coming! by Tama Fortner is a great religious Christmas book for young readers.

If you're seeking a little more Christian religion in your holiday books, then this book is for you! It reviews why Christmas, Christianity and God are very important to Jesus's Birthday. Add in the beautiful illustrations and you've got yourself one lovely book. This book tells the whole story that most people hear in Sunday school, but it adds in very pretty pictures and makes it easy to read and follow. It also makes the story more fun! I've heard this story told many times in a droning voice. It's nice to see it told in a more kid friendly way.

I'm always on the lookout for books that I can share with my eight-year-old granddaughter, and this is now at the top of my list! Author Max Lucado has adapted his best-selling book, You Can Count on God, into this version that has 100 devotions just for kids. Each two-page entry begins with Bible scripture, and it's followed by a short devotion with even more scripture. The second page has an appropriate closing, and this may be a question, a prayer, or something for them to remember. As I thumbed through the pages, I noticed the catchy titles, the easy-to-understand text, and the different topics that are especially appropriate for young readers, with a variety of Bible stories and life lessons that will keep them from being bored. Titles such as 'Tucked Under God's Wings', 'More than a Little Lunch', and 'Best Brother Ever', along with reminders that 'God Cares for You', 'Jesus Prays for You', and 'God Can Use You'.

This book is a wonderful way for parents or grandparents to share their faith with their children and grandchildren, but I can see it being a wonderful resource for Sunday school teachers and Youth Group leaders. This hardback copy with its navy-blue ribbon bookmark is perfect for gift-giving but do plan to keep a copy for your special young person. Help them to better understand God's Word, and to grow in their Christian faith.
