The first two-thirds of the book was slow. Both Amelia and Adam seem to be up to no good. The last third of the book contains plot twists and coincidences that are unlikely, but interesting if you can suspend disbelief.
My book club read this book and we had a lively discussion about the unreliable, despicable characters. We also talked about the various twists in the story. Also, we made choices for actors to play parts for a movie version-Nicole Kidman for Robin, Bradley Cooper or Johnny Depp for Adam, and Reese Witherspoon for Amelia. Overall, the members enjoyed the book.… (mere)

My Opinion
Good Bad Girl by Alice Feeney is an amazing psychological thriller with a totally unexpected twist. The story had a good start, and there was a point when the plot became predictable. But the author saved the dessert for last, and it was mind-blowing. A totally unexpected one with a few characters. Each character had a different story to narrate, which contributed equally to the story.

Edith's character was the most interesting and secretive one. And the last few pages were a bang. Although the story became flat for a few pages, Still, the climax is fresh in my mind. You are going to love this book. Definitely, it deserves 5 stars. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with an opportunity to read and review the book.… (mere)

Daisy Darker was born with a broken heart. The youngest of the three Darker sisters, Daisy spends a great deal of time with her eccentric Nana, a children’s book author who lives at Seaglass, a secluded old house whose only access is during low tide.

Growing up, Daisy longs for the freedom afforded of her older sisters, Rose and Lily, and the attention of the neighbor boy, Connor, who seemingly only has eyes for Rose. Living with her heart condition, Daisy is smothered by Nancy, the girls’ mother, who, resentful of Daisy’s condition, struggles to love her youngest daughter as she does her elder children. Growing up with books and Nana as her only friend, Daisy yearns for normalcy. Sneaking out on Halloween in her thirteenth year, Daisy witnesses an event with her sister that will change the course of all the Darkers’ lives.

At the request of Nana to celebrate her 80th birthday at Seaglass, the Darkers converge and learn the secrets and lies each has been holding since Daisy was 13.

Alice Feeney is a wonderful writer and her books are quite enjoyable. However, for me, Daisy Darker is a bit too far reaching for my taste and by the end become somewhat of a disappointment.

I usually enjoy Feeney’s psychological thrillers but, by the end, I found this one just plain silly.
