I wonder if most people ever pause throughout the year to ponder that God came in human form, dependant, and lowly in status for the sole purpose of going to the cross? I consider many times how Jesus depended on Mary and Joseph as a babe and then throughout His young life was obedient to them. Jesus came through a young, lowly, Jewish woman to in order to open the way for mankind to be reconciled to God.
In this small book are thought-provoking Scriptures, commentary and thoughts that take people back in time to Bethlehem. We are reminded or perhaps see from a different viewpoint the beginning of a path that was very specific and extremely inspiring. Today we can still be inspired, renewed and refreshed by the Words of Jesus. Read with an open mind and consider what God maybe speaking to you as we enter a marvelous season of rejoicing for one reason and Person, Jesus.
I will share one such quote that spoke to my heart found on page 32 in the book, “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.” You see he chose his disciples not from the highly educated men of that time, but fishermen. One Jewish man was a tax collector. These were people the world at that time would spit at or consider the most ignorant and unworthy of anyone’s attention. Yet, Jesus called them by name. He saw then and sees now what we don’t see and that is those hearts and lives might not be much by this world’s standards but are very worthy to Him. How do I know? Did He not give up heaven for a short time to come to earth so that I may know Him personally in my heart? He came for all those willing to lay down their lives, count the cost, pick up their cross and follow Him.
Will you come to the manger and behold our Savior, Messiah, King, and so much more?
Will you dare to draw near?
Will you allow Him to reign in your heart and life so you can be with Him forever?
