This book is great, especially if you are unaware or less informed on how beauty standards impact everything about the lives of those who identify as female. Objectification, self-objectification, commodification. . . it all takes our energy, our confidence, our time, and our attention. I enjoyed the personal stories from women (this book unfortunately only focuses on those AFAB), about how beauty sickness affects them. Because I've spent a lot of time in the anti-diet, body positive space learning I didn't renew the book to finish it when it came due at the library and DNF. I would recommend it.… (mere)
