Kort biografi
Raised as an Air Force brat, moving all about the US of A. Enlisted in the USAF at the end of the Vietnam War after graduating high school. Upon discharge ventured to NYC in order to become a comic book author; attended the Art Students' League of NY at that time. Became married, had a son, divorced, moved back home to Washington, eventually married again.
Throughout this time wrote many songs and stories, but never published until recently, after all children were finally grown and out of the house.
Now has eight books under his belt, three of which are collections of short stories.
Next book currently under way, as always. "Writing is simply too much in my blood to not be writing my next book."

This book depicts a Donald Trump characterization that is too unrealistic to be possible.

Pumpkin Jack Skull and Other Tales of Terror is, obviously, an anthology of horror stories, perfect for reading on Halloween, or, for that matter, at any time one wishes to read tales of terror bordering on the supernatural. Most stories in the anthology are unrelated to each other, but there are a couple that, if read together, do seem to connect. One of them clarifies events in the other.

I'll admit to being somewhat hurried when I was reading through these tales, so I didn't take notes, nor do my usual one-liner synopsis of each story with a short comment afterwards... sorry for that... and for the fact that I don't have time to read through them again right now to make up for that lack of time earlier... This collection is a worthy read. Unlike lots of independent authors, Jacob Drake has taken the time to track down most of the errors in his work to show that he cares about quality as well as quantity of work produced.

As with most anthologies, this one has some stories that are better than others... my favorites come near the end of the sequence. Those last two or three stories really do reach out and grab you, just like a good horror story should. Interested readers can claim their copy of Pumpkin Jack Skull and Other Tales of Terror in a choice of several ebook formats, all of which are unencumbered by digital rights management and free of cost.

This is Book Three of the Forever Darkness series, following Forever Undead (#1) and The Darkness in the Light (#2). A must for all true vampire lovers who like to see vampires as actual vampires, not some weakened Hollywood shadow of a vampire.

In a world of super-heroes another hero falls out of the sky one day and lands almost virtually at the feet of the greatest hero on this Earth. When it is realized this displaced hero (Superion) is almost a duplicate of the first (Solarian), the two come to understand that Superion has been snatched from his own dimension and mysteriously placed within this one. For what purpose? That's what the duplicate heroes determine to discover, if they can survive the greatest danger to this version of Earth and the onslaught of a trio of villains whose powers have been enhanced to the point where they may well kill these heroes before their quest can be completed and Superion returned to his own world.… (mere)
