George A. Dillman, a ninth degree black belt, has been a significant presence on the American marital arts scene for decades. In the sixties and early seventies he was a widely respected tournament competitor winnng all divisions in major tournaments. Then, Dillman began to concentrate his efforts on popularizing karate and educate the public. Through many appearances on television, and spectacular breaking demonstrations, he helped draw the spot light to the martial arts as an effective means of self-defense. He was so successful, in fact, that at various tournaments instructors would come up to him and thank him for his TV appearances, crediting him with improved enrollment in their schools.

In 1972, Hohan Soken gave Dillman and several other American masters pressure point charts pertaining to Okinawan karate, saying, 'This is what you would need to know to be a master in my country (Okinawa).' The charts contained the principles of presure point fighting-the art of Kyusho-jitsu. Even armed with these charts, it took Dillman fifteen years of intense study with many top masters, and hours of medical/anatomical reaserch to finally interperet what Soken had given him.

Since then, Dillman has purposefully committed himself to passing-on what he has unearthed. He has published a series of videotapes which explain the hidden arts of Tuite (grappling) and Kyusho-jitsu (one-point fighting) which are recorded in the original katas. This book discusses some of these theories and makes them easily accessible to martial artists around the world.
