I received a copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. All Mercy ever wanted was to be a normal teenager. No one knew her secret except her first boyfriend Paul. Mercy was a Succubus, and not knowing, she almost kills her boyfriend with a kiss. Finally older, her best friend drags her to a party with their high school’s elite crowd. They decide to play Spin the Bottle, the bottle land on Mercy and Flynn. She prays she doesn’t kill anyone tonight, this will be the first boy she has kissed since the incident with Paul. I won’t go into detail about everything that happens but throughout the novel many secrets kept from Mercy are revealed. Although this book is labeled a paranormal romance, there’s suspense in it as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, so many paranormal beings, I think Ms. Dermott could write other novels based on a few of the characters.… (mere)

If you read that quote and felt your IQ drop, making you want to shake whoever asked that question, that was exactly how I felt reading a majority of this book. For those of you who don't get it (how do you not understand?); the darker the clothes you wear, the more you blend into the darkness. Why do you think people committing crimes wear black or dark colors?

I have to say, this was like a fraternal twin of Twilight. Note to you guys reading my review; I hated Twilight. With a passion. I was intrigued by this book the minute I read the description. Beg for Mercy is fast paced, and I was unable to put it down. I was beginning to wonder how this was going to be a YA book about a succubus, but Dermott pulled it off fabulously!

Many of the characters were easy to connect with. Mercy acted like a complete airhead at times, but I don't she realized the effect she had on people since she wasn't never taught what to do in certain situations. Luke is the all around great guy. He's easy going, patient and loyal. Flynn is awesome! He's the poster boy for bad boys everywhere. Paul is stuck in the friend zone. Well, Mercy wishes he wasn't, but can't change things. And then there is Sebastian. You never know his true intentions.

I love the mystery in the book. I also think it's a shock to Mercy that not everyone is as they seem. If you aren't a fan of love triangles, you might get annoyed. There are 4 main guys vying for Mercy's attention. At times I felt it was a little excessive, but it didn't take away from the story at all. Being put in these odd situations has helped Mercy grow, and learn to make better choices.

I can't wait to see what happens in Waiting for Mercy. Especially after the way this book ended!!!!… (mere)
