This book was not as insightful as i hoped it would be. It was a bunch of stories about how the teen girls was goin down hill. I only found one mother in the entire book that had a clue, that ultimately it is there life to make something of it or screw it up and some kids have to fall on their face before they get it. I have a tumultuous preteen and the best recommendation i seen in the book was the wilderness camps but no one tells u it will cost over 20 grand to send them!!!!! it only got a 2 star because of all the resources she gives at the back of the book otherwise its a 1 star.… (mere)

I'm am so thankful I don't have to tolerate the people described in this book. I have met adults like this, and my reaction is to simply make certain I never have to be around them. Life is too, too short to put up with that kind of manipulation and meanness. Recently four women were fired for "gossiping" at their office, and I cheered when I read about it in the paper. Creating a negative work environment SHOULD be grounds for dismissal. To me, anyway, THAT is a real solution.

Cheryl Dellasega has long been considered an expert on the topic of female bullying and has written five nonfiction self-help books and a fiction series for teenage girls. Her expertise includes everyday challenges facing women today. She's appeared on various radio and television shows such as The Today Show and Good Morning America and has written numerous articles for magazines such as Redbook, Cosmopolitan and Glamour. Continuing in this role of helping girls and women, Dellasega has now released her first book in a series of three - The Heavenly Host Book 1: The Testings of Devotion.

The Heavenly Host Book 1 is a work of fiction about an old theme - good versus evil - but, in Cheryl's book, angels become heroes. These brave angels are sent to stop the threat from former archangel, Lucifer, as he goes about his work on earth to destroy mortals for all time. Sophia, Senior Servant of the Heavenly Host, leads the effort to help humans overcome the vast temptations that Lucifer offers.

Sophia is armed with The Testings of Devotion, but even with that strong power on her side, she soon finds how alluring the pleasures of earth can be. Even angels find it difficult to withstand Lucifer's pull, and Sophia wonders what fate befell her predecessor - whom everyone is mysteriously silent about. But, luckily for Sophia, the archangel, Gabriel is there to encourage her, sometimes with a special message from the Almighty Divine.

Lucifer has his own hands full with trying to stop a rebellion from Grigori, offspring of the original fallen angels, who also want power. At the moment when Sophia most doubts her ability to complete the assignment, she comes face to face with Lucifer and realizes who is actually being tested.

The Heavenly Host Book 1 will be an interesting read for those interested in angels and the spiritual warfare between good and evil. Even though the book is a fictional work, the fall of Lucifer is Bible-based -- and The Heavenly Host Book 1 shows that God doesn't wish us evil or bring it into our lives - that He surrounds us with angels to help us keep temptation from ruining our lives.

You'll learn that angels are really warriors for God and battle with Lucifer, the fallen angels and nihilism every day. Dellasega's book is based on the Biblical fact that the devil indeed roams the earth, seeking to bring troubles and sorrow to the humans that God made and loves. And, you'll learn that God has his own army of angels to help Him fight Lucifer's trouble-making army.

The Heavenly Host Book 1: The Testings of Devotion, skillfully written by Cheryl Dellasega, will please readers who have read her other books and make them eager to read the next book in the series. The book is a new twist on spiritual fiction and the first in an extremely promising series of three.
