I liked it. A lot. Main characters, Ciro and Savannah, were well drawn and had depth, made you interested in their lives. Was one of those books that actually made me consider what I would be willing to accept in a relationship. Ciro was the perfect boyfriend - except for his job. And that made him very far from acceptable bf material for most women (51 before Savannah). I got very annoyed with her many times, esp when she accepted his assertion that cheating on someone only involved mind and heart. If only the body was involved it wasn’t cheating. Then he would distract her with sex and she would forget all about that part.
In the end they got the HEA tho and that’s what you want for both of them.

This book is different to what I expected. There are some dark themes, but I thought that it would be darker than it was. That being said, it was a very good book, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Silvina and Gioele are cousins. They are tightly bonded and have been practically since birth. When they were younger, it was OK for them to be so close, but as they got older and that closeness went from a tight bond to true love, it started to be more and more of a problem. But when they get caught, their parents and their family do everything they can to separate them and make Silvina and Gioele afraid of being together. It doesn't end their love though, and even years later, they are still fighting it.

Not only are our two star crossed lovers madly in love, they are also the prince and princess of a huge mafia family. When Gioele's father heats up a cold war with another family, everyone's lives turn upside

Like I said, this wasn't quite what I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised. Tehre were plenty of other surprises in the book that I really liked too. I loved how Silvina called Gioele her bane, but he always called her Ina mia, my Ina. It was such an intimate name. It can be read as a standalone, but there is a book involving Gioele's older brother which can give a little more background on the story.

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-17/4/18.

I have never read anything by this author before and initially, I wasn't quite sure if the writing style was for me, It took a bit of getting used to but I did get there in the end and before long I was racing through this mafia romance / forbidden love story.
So before I start I should mention that the two main characters here Silvina & Gioele are first cousins who have grown up together.
This really didn't bother me that much as it is completely legal (well in my country anyway UK)
I know others may think differently than me that is why I was so impressed that this author tackled such a controversial and taboo subject.
So I found this to be utterly and totally heartbreaking at times.
To feel that strongly about another individual but for it to be classed as forbidden and wrong when all you want to do is just be happy together.
It was just so tragically harsh.
I get it, why the family was so set against this taboo, but I still felt so very strongly, that when all is said and done what was so wrong with Silvina & Gioele's love.
Silvini calls Gioele her "bane" and Gioele calls her his "Ina Mia".
These two practically finish each other's sentences they are that in tune with each other.
Its like they occupy a totally different bandwidth from the rest of the populace and I found this to be utterly adorable.
So there were a few things going on here that I loved and a few instances that I was not so struck with.
Hence why I went in the end with the four stars.
So after I got used to it, I really loved the talky style narrative.
It was a very informal way of storytelling but it seemed to work for this, giving it a much more personal feel.
I also really enjoyed the use of the Italian smattered throughout, it gave this I thought a very exotic flavour.
"Regretfully Yours" was very plot driven and the focus was less on the sexual side of things and more down the feelings route.
I found this to be a very intense experience with a deep dramatic storyline that was also so very believable.
I did find that the physical side of this story seemed to take more of a back seat with the main focus being on the drama, especially after our girl is kidnapped.
I found this to be a good thing, as so much more is learned from there past endeavours and present interactions than would have been if this was too sex focused.
So a couple things I had a beef with the "Adult Entertainment Contract" Pffft what contract it was one audition where I think it seemed more of an excuse for Gioele to have relations with someone else rather than an actual new career path.
And that was the extent of the adult film industry input, so I do believe in hindsight that the blurb was slightly misleading here.
Don't get me wrong there is no cheating as such here as our pair are not actually together but I am not really a fan of OW or OM tropes it's just a me thing.
The overall action here was full on and through initially I did believe Gioele to be a bit of a dick I changed my mind quite quickly I liked them both (Gioele & Silvinia) and just wanted them to get there HEA, after everything they had been put through and suffered they deserved this at least.
One other thing I also found was that occasionally I had some difficulty following along with the storyline.
It was only slight and was not often enough to be a major issue, so I overlooked this slightly and just had a quick read through of the passage to orientate me.
All in all, I did enjoy this but I've got a feeling this is going to be a love/hate thing for most.
A bit like marmite. (Hate marmite though just bloody yuck and gross)
Me, I'm more on the Love side of the fence.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of "Regretfully Yours" of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
