I have enjoyed following Michelle De Bruin’s Tomorrow Series and reading the third book was no different.

Though I personally didn’t find Dreaming of Tomorrow to be my favorite, the setting was slightly weird for me and it had been a while since I read the second book in the series. That didn’t stop me from loving the beautiful ending of the series.

The character growth throughout the series has been fun to see, the way readers get to follow along with a romance that is not sudden nor rushed but sweet and learning gave a warm and cozy feeling.

If you enjoy historical romances, stories about teachers, pastors, or small town settings this is the book for you!

I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Coming Home Forever by Michelle De Bruin is Inspirational Historical Fiction. Set in 1919, this book takes place after the First Great War. Army Chaplain Tim Ellerbee returns home and strives to determine what God’s plan for his life truly is. He finds himself conflicted about taking a position as a pastor of a large church in California or staying in his hometown to be near his family. Forced by his father to find a job, his father makes him work in his father’s mayoral office.

Rose Harper struggles to find her way and place in the world. She leaves college and dreams of becoming a teacher and takes two jobs to support herself. She makes some poor decisions and makes some bad choices with friends. When her path and that of Tim intersect, their lives begin to change. She learns more about God, and he learns about what matters to him.

Overall, I felt the author did an excellent job building the characters and storyline. In some places, I could not enjoy as much as other parts. I think Michelle De Bruin did an excellent job with this book.

So, if you enjoy works of Inspirational Historical Fiction, check out Coming Home Forever by Michelle De Bruin for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

Coming Home Forever by Michelle De Bruin is the third book in the Coming Home Series. The characters follow through in this series and each book references people and events from previous books, so it is best to read in order. The author does a great job of giving background information so they can easily be read as stand alone stories as well. This book focuses on Rose after she has left college. While working a dinner gathering at the Ellenbroek home she met Tim, the young military soldier who returned from war. While Tim just wants to have a quiet life near home, his father wants him to have a high profile job and gets him a job at City Hall.

This is an enjoyable story to read. It’s fun to visit Oswell City and the residents again. I enjoyed reading how encouraging Rose and Time are for each other. The things that stands out the most in the story is how God works in different ways. From giving Tim the feeling he must travel to the different job offers he receives. This is a heartwarming series to read.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.

A great story of finding out what plans God has for you. Rose has dreamed of being a teacher but her plans didn’t quite go in that direction. I remember when I was younger all I ever wanted to be was a teacher. I never had the chance to go to college so I pushed my dreams aside. Years later I became a teacher but not where I thought I would teach. Rose is an inspiration to me because she continues to press forward even when her dream seemed impossible.

When Timothy returns home from the war, he wants to pastor a church. His first thought is he needs time to emotionally heal before pastoring a church. Timothy’s father is pushy and wants Timothy to take the first job offered to him. I liked how Timothy and Rose met even though they come from different backgrounds. This may cause friction between them and their families, but I was excited to see where God would take these two characters.

With emotional scenes such as Rose trying to decide to go with her friends or stay and help her aunt the author delivers a touching example of how the enemy can slowly slip into out thoughts if we are not careful. Sometimes we have to hit rock bottom before we finally surrender to God. Rose feels insecure around Timothy while she battles with trying to do the right thing.

Timothy has his own problems with nightmares from the war. He finds comfort from letters his mother sent him. They are filled with scriptures that gave him comfort during the war. Now he turns to those scriptures to find guidance from God, and pray for direction. With pressure from his father he leans more on his faith to seek God’s purpose fir his life.

The story is a look at God’s plan for your life and finding a place to call home. There are some tearful moments in the story but the ending is beautiful.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
