Joel Davis

This was an interesting look at the Voyager 2 mission until just after the completion of the Uranus flyby. Joel Davis was a freelance science writer who was covering the Voyager missions both for this book and for various periodicals, etc. Particularly moving was his descriptions of the stunned and grief-stricken reactions at JPL on the day of the Challenger disaster. The introduction was contributed by Isaac Asimov. Recommended for those interested in the behind-the-scenes aspects of interplanetary science.… (mere)
