Jeff's 2019 Reads i The Green Dragon (april 2021)

Story is getting a little like a repetitive process than an actual prorogation. I am still enjoying the books but how many ways can humanity destroy it's self.

Really like this series so far, I saw the Show first. Yes there are differences. This is one of the few that the show is good and so are the books. The path is different but the stories are solid enough it doesn't matter to me. I will peruse watching the show on Amazon and reading the books.

The more I read this, the less I enjoyed it. It started off very well — humanity expanded into the solar system; reasonable sci-fi elements; politics; mystery, horror, tension... But, boy it goes on too long, and the characters are just badly written. There's some eye-rollingly forced dialogue, particularly when the two protagonists meet and start doing a weird buddy-cop thing. Inconsistent characterisations; characters defined by people describing them. The vaguely realistic science gets abandoned at some point. The ending seems entirely implausible. It's not _awful_ but I can't imagine ever reading the next two books, whenever they come out. Ultimately, not ridiculously disappointing, but disappointingly ridiculous.… (mere)

Just as good as the rest of the series. I enjoy so much getting back together with these characters and this book doesn't disappoint. As usual, the crew is sent off to save the Universe. I won't give any spoilers but things are pretty close to home for Naomi. A couple of characters come back into the fold and they were great to see. I always love these books.
