This book by Jacqueline Coote is truly a motivational and inspiration one, as it resonates what has already happened to scores of women [and men too] when they their soulmate of many years dies suddenly. And it doesn’t even matter whether their marriage had truly been a happy one for there must have been some specific qualities they’d seen in their mate which had made them attractive, and still did throughout their marriage.
In this specific story, after the death of her husband moves into a condo to start her life anew. Fate [and the Lord] as a way of making things in the most unexpected ways. For it’s at this condo, the protagonist, Francesca discovers a garden in which she undergoes a bizarre chance meeting with a young girl [who she finds out later is somehow related to her remotely] This meeting winds up transforming her life for an unexpected betterment.
In reality what this story shows is that we sometimes need a fresh set of eyes that wears a pair of the proverbial rose-colored glasses to view the world with, that will hopefully lead us to gain a renewed set self-determination, conviction and most importantly faith.
Towards the end of the book, I got a sense of listening to the “Come to the Garden Alone” hymn.
“I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses

And He walks with me and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known

I'd stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me is falling
But He bids me go, through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling…”

And it’s for this reason I’ve given Ms. Coote the 5 STARS I’ve given her.

I received an autographed copy of this book from the author, the following is my honest opinion.

How many times, have you looked back at your life and have pondered of all the things you would have done, could have done or should have done. I know I have.

This short, inspiring story the author, Jacqueline Coote, takes her readers and had taken me into a day of the protagonist, Juliana’s life. A rainy in which Juliana spends time with the help of her husband going through memorabilia of her life. Memorabilia of the way things had been or might have been if she made a different choice than the one she had.

While there’s a lot of frustration involved in remembering the past for Juliana, there’s also a sense of enlightenment when she realizes there’s still time to fulfill and achieve those lost opportunities and dreams if she’s willing to grab the bull by its horns and go for it. This notion is not a fantasy, but a real-life reality not only for her, it’s a reality for all of us; I, myself, didn’t fulfill my dream of becoming a published author until just before my 62nd birthday.

For having written a story which can help people realize they can still fulfill their dreams if they’re willing to set their minds to it, I’m giving this endeavor by Ms. Coote, 5 STARS.

If anyone looks up my bio you’ll find I’m not only a Blogger and a voracious Book Reviewer with 572 reviews already under my belt since I started this, my 2nd second career, three years ago this week, I’m also an author with two books under my belt; an anthology of 100 Flash Fictions and my debut MG/YA Paranormal romance novel [which I’m currently re-editing.]

I found that this book speaks to me. Having married in my early 40’s to my dear OH about 23 ¾ years ago, we wound up having no children [probably good since there’s a genetic condition one of us has]. After having a massive heart attack and a quadruple by-pass surgery around age 60, I decided to sit down and finally fulfill a dream I had when I had been a young child. The dream had been to become an author which I’d fulfilled about two years later, and now I’ve the two books already written as I mentioned above, I’ve also got two endeavors which I’m working slowly on’ an adult Contemporary romance and a MG/YA Urban Fantasy. Now I’m just awaiting to get enough sales so I can quickly finish them and get them self-published as well through CreateSpace.

I haven’t let my age stop me with what I love doing now, which is my writing. Not am I only writing the stuff I’ve mention, I’ve writing stuff which can best be described as erotic.

As you can probably tell from what I’ve written above I’m not letting my age stop me from writing what I do; nor is my age stopping me from other endeavors. I believe I’m epitomizing what this book is trying to offer all those who read it. And if you’re like me, you shouldn’t let anything stand in your way from doing what you want to do or fulfilling those dreams which have yet to be fulfilled.

As I tell any woman, to whom I’m connected to on FaceBook, on their birthdays:

Happy Birthday Girl !!!
And Many, many more
Remember… The older you get, the better you get !!! :-) :-) :-)

Given the above, it should come as no surprise that I’m giving this book the 5 STARS it so richly deserves. So, to use a US Army campaign, “Be All You Can Be,” and consider getting a copy of this book.

BTW – If you’re wondering about my age, I’M ONLY 66 ½ YEARS YOUNG !!!
