I absolutely loved this book. Even though this is the 2nd book of the series it reads like a stand alone.

A lot of wonderful characters that I fell in love with and some that needed to grow up. A lot happening with wives, daughters, husbands, friends, attorneys, sadness, happiness. You name it, it's in this book.

Now I really need to read the first one about her friend. I'm hoping that there is another book from this author since you know I'll be reading it.… (mere)

I have not read the first book in this series but after finishing this book, I do want to go back and learn more about Lark. There are many things that could have set this book up to not be a good one but none of those were present in this book.

Examples are having a downcast tone to the story, unappealing characters, and a weak ending. As I said, none of these were present. Even at the bad moments when the lies came out, there was no harsh feelings.

Sissie had me cheering for her the whole time. She is someone that readers can relate to very well. This story would not be what it is if it was not for the characters. So pick up a copy and get to know Sissie.… (mere)

Lark’s husband has recently passed away. She is now widowed with two young boys. She is sort of in a holding pattern but life has a way of shoving you onto the right path. She ends up moving home to Fredericksburg, TX. Here is where he life starts to get interesting.

Lark ends up meeting a wonderful man (of course). However, Wyatt has his own brand of drama. And it is drama you do not want to miss. These two are so great together but, as you can guess, life intervenes and sends their relationship into a skid.

I loved Lark through most of the book She has been through so much and she is so strong. But, toward the end of the book, she changed a little. I was a little disappointed in how she handled a certain situation. But, everyone has flaws right!?! Just made it more real!

This is a wonderful, heartwarming story which will have you crying and laughing all in the same paragraph.
