Abigayle Claire

I have been on this author's street team for months after being impressed by a short story she wrote. However, I hadn't read any of her full-length novels. I now regret that I didn't read them sooner. This story was amazing. The character's lives drew me in and I was enthralled with the storyline. As I said in a quick, one sentence review earlier, "this girl knows how to write."
The only thing that I was a bit 'ehh' about was the romance. It appeared with a bang that I was not really expecting. (I totally wanted it, just not that quick.)
All that said, Abigayle is such a talented author and book two comes out soon!!!!!!!!

OM goodness! I LOVED this!!! After waiting months and months to read this, and listening to all my friends fangirl about it, I finally read it! It fully met, and probably exceeded my expectations! I read every chance I would get and stayed up wayyyyyyyy too late 2 nights in a row to finish this. I did not want to ever put it down!

Let's start with my dislikes and get them over with. I know it is a series, but I felt like some things should have been wrapped up better. Such as the storyline with Annaliese; we left her in shock on her bed and never heard from her again. I would have liked to have seen that wrapped up. Also Mr. Martin's storyline. I heard to rumor that we was going to play a more major part in book 2, but I feel like his storyline still needed a little closure. I also felt like there were a few very minor plot holesissues, but they were very minor. I also felt like Gemma accepted Christianity a bit suddenly, but it wasn't that big of a deal. So, all in all, I still give this 5 stars!!

On to characters; THEY ALL ARE AMAZING!!! Gemma is perfect. And I don't mean perfect, as in she is perfect, but her character is so well rounded and has such depth, that it makes her a perfect character. And the Martin family . . . I love all of them! Especially the three youngest, they are all so adorable! I love the part when Gail was helping in the kitchen . . .
And the story was just amazing! Beautifully done! While the story involves some touchy issues, Abigayle never goes into uncomfortable details, but handles it in a very tasteful and tactful way. Kudos!

All in all, I really enjoyed this! It will definitely be a reread for me. For a debut novel, it was quite good! I can tell Abigayle really poured her heart into this book, and it is all the better for it. I look forward (with great anticipation and no patience) to future works by this author!

CONTENT NOTE: (may contain spoilers) The story deals with issues such as a character being pregnant out of wedlock, briefly mentions drug misuse, vandalism and other similar things.
