This book gave great insight into the difficulties and joys a military mother experiences. A good read for any military family member or friend. I did at times lose track of which child was in which branch of service. Although I don't think that mattered as much as what happened and how the mom(s) got through.

Great book filled with many chapters full of coping mechanisms for the parent whose child has decided to join the military. This book is written by a mother who has children serving in all four branches of the U.S. military. Elaine Lowry Brye's words are so wise and relatable from letting go TO what to expect next TO confronting the ultimate sacrifice. Keep the tissues handy when reading this enlightening book.

The synopsis of this book sounded a lot more interesting than it actually was. I just couldn't get into it. I didn't think it was particularly well-written either - it kind of jumps around, and the author repeats information several times. I plan to pass it on to a military mom; maybe she can appreciate it more.
