Dr. Laney McPhearson, a criminologist, is sent a manuscript by her best friend. It's on a hush hush archeological dig concerning a possibility of a very ancient civilization found in Montana, possibly Atlantis. Before Laney gets a chance to proofread the paper, her home is broken into by a man with superhuman abilities. Despite being shot numerous times, he shakes it off and pursues her. Laney ends up in a safe house run by Henry Chandler, a giant of a man who runs a well known think tank. Jake, Hernty's head of security is in search of his missing brother. His brother is one of hundreds of missing parolees. The information Laney has leads Jake to take a closer look at the archeological dig.

This was a fun first of a series. The characters are likeable and relatable.

This story is captivating right from the start. Physically and mentally strong characters who are challenged beyond what most could handle. Quite a wild ride with fallen angels, ancient artifacts, modern day slavery, and Biblical history! Great fight scenes. Good character, plot, and storyline development.

Enjoyed the story a lot. Some of my favorite stories are those that use facts to tell a fictional story. This is the story of Dr. Delaney McPherson; Laney to her friends; a criminologist whose friend has been killed. Laney gets caught up in findingo what happens to her friend. Along the way she meets Jake whose foster brother is missing and Jake whom Jake is searching for. Together they come across a conspiracy that includes fallen angels and a dirty politician. When I purchased this book I was excited because I love Jane Austen and was interested in her life. I was disappointed that the majority of the book seemed to be about the books Jane had written rather than her life. I admire the passion that Ms. Frost must have that compelled her to write this story it might have been better to just continue to enjoy the stories and research into the regency period.

There a a few editing issues but not really enough to be distracting. This is the first of a series but that too I enjoyed as it could stand alone and had a clear ending.
