- Kort biografi
- Lennard Bickel came to Australia circa 1951 - 1952 from England. He grew up from humble beginnings in East London and eventually settled in Kiama NSW where he began a career in journalism. Lennard was the Science editor for 'The Australian' newspaper for approximately nine years in the 1960's. He was officially invited by NASA to cover the 1st Lunar landing in 1969 by Apollo11, and his was the feature story on the front page of 'The Australian' in July of that year. His transition to author came as a result of being awarded a Commonwealth Literary Fellowship in 1970, and so began his first book, 'Rise Up To Life' the biography of Howard Florey and his development of the life saving drug Penicillin.
