Excellent slim volume of essays (115 pps. total) about various aspects of the Church (rather than religion - the distinction is important) in Pym's works. For those who love her books this will be a very satisfying read, and almost certainly tell you something new, as well.

A really entertaining anthology of short writings about what the title says: real indexes with humour, fictional indexes and indexers. I enjoyed it so much more than I expected to and now want to read many of the books it refers to, particularly Nabokov's Pale Fire. Good pre-bed reading as it all comes in small bite-sized chunks. I had to struggle to stop myself reading it too quickly.
