- Kort biografi
- Anne Baxter was born in Indiana to Catherine Wright Baxter, the daughter of Frank Lloyd Wright, and her husband Kenneth Baxter. Anne attended private schools in New York and began acting on Broadway at age 13. She made her Hollywood screen debut at age 17 in Twenty Mule Team (1940), a minor Western, and then went on to become a star on stage and in films and television for the next 40 years. She won an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress in The Razor's Edge (1946) and another Oscar nomination for All About Eve (1950). In 1960, she married her second husband, Randolph Galt, the American owner of a ranch in the outback of Australia, and went to live with him there. They had two daughters before divorcing in 1969. She recounted her experiences in a memoir called Intermission: A True Story (1976). She died at age 62 of a brain aneurysm.
