In Old Age in a New Age, Baker tell the story of a better way to live in old age. Although each home is different, they share common values: respecting individual choices; empowering staff; fostering a strong community of elders, staff, family members, and volunteers; redesigning buildings from a hospital model to a home (where pets and children are part of everyday life); and honoring people when they die

I started reading this book and thought I had skipped a page or sentence. The book does not follow English writing standards. My thoughts were the first page, paragraph, or chapter were had somehow mixed by me.
After finishing this read, the book is difficult to read which makes the content not believable. All the information in each chapter is repeated in every chapter. My impression is that a student was required to write a document with x number of words or pages and kept repeating the information over and over and over to achieve their goal.
The overall message is good but finding it is painful. My suggestion would be to struggle through the first and last chapter which contains the message the author strives.

Although there is some good information included in this book about the benefits of the Mediterranean Diet, it is difficult to get through because it is surprisingly poorly written.

The book offers nutritional information to support why the Mediterranean Diet can be beneficial to one's health for weight loss/maintenance. It also states that this diet can help in other broader areas such as heart health and Diabetes.

The book however is poorly written. It reads, in fact, as if it had first been written in another language and then automatically translated without being edited before printing. The syntax is off in many sentences that just don't make sense. Some sentences start with a capital letter and then the second word of the sentence is also capitalized for no reason. A few sentences don't even have any end punctuation. I checked to see if this was an advanced readers' copy of an early edition, but it is not. Unfortunately in addition to all this, the book was VERY repetitive. For example, it discussed the same benefits of olive oil in so many different ways in just about every chapter. It was unbelievable.

I feel kind of bad to have to write a review like this about an actual published book. There was good info in it. It could have been explained in about 1/4 of the space. With a total overhaul on the editing this could be a handy little guide.

This book is so badly written that I couldn't bear to read beyond the first chapter. I initially thought it was a first draft and that the author required feedback prior to publishing it; as I read on, I began to wonder whether it had been translated from another language; whichever is the case, many of the sentences make no sense and it is in need of extensive editing. I note that it is for sale on Amazon, yet it is not fit for sale in its current state.
