Harold Alderman

I love the way Professor Alderman goes beyond Heidegger--the philosopher who studied Nietzsche by reading between the lines of his unpublished notes ("Will to Power")--to arrive at an explication of BOTH of the great philosophers.

Alderman takes Zarathustra as the voiced character of an idea about life's meaning. The thinker becomes both free and responsible by acknowledging the playful character of thought, and Alderman shows how Zarathustra manifests the major themes of Nietzsche's teachings -- eternal recurrence, will, values, and Overman.
