Cesar Chavez dedicated his life to helping American farmworkers. As a child growing up in California during the Great Depression, he picked produce with his family. Cesar saw firsthand how unfairly workers were treated. As an adult, he organized farmworkers into unions and argued for better pay and fair working conditions. He was jailed for his efforts, but he never stopped urging people to stand up for their rights.
This book describes the life of Samuel Adams and the accomplishes he holds for America, as well as before. This book assists the reader in gaining knowledge of Samuel Adams and the profound life he held. There is detailed information as well as dates and descriptions. I would recommend this book to be used in a history classroom.
This is a good book if you're looking for the facts of Cesar Chavez. It takes readers from his early life as a child, through his civil rights fight, and to his death. This book teaches children, through the life of Chavez, that inequality should never be tolerated. He is a great example of selflessness to make a better life for others. It's important for children to read stories like his, knowing there were others who fought for civil rights other than Martin Luther King, and it wasn't just black Americans that were discriminated.… (mere)
A Picture Book of John Hancock is a picture book biography of the life of John Hancock. It tells about his life and what he did for America. He always stood up for what he thought was right and helped people in tough situations. Overall i think this book was very lengthy but it is a good book for those who are learning about the Declaration of Independence. The book is also very informative and great for kids.
