Ansel Adams (1902–1984)

This picture book was created by Ansel Adams, through a series of photographs taken from the Manzanar Relocation Center in 1943-44. According to Ansel Adams, "through the pictures the reader will be introduced to perhaps twenty individuals . . . loyal American citizens who are anxious to get back into the stream of life and contribute to our victory." The pictures feature individuals who are American citizens during the internment process. It was published in 1944. Although it is a beautiful image, it is too hard as a puzzle. The pieces are not differentiated enough to tell when they are assembled correctly, especially since the image is monochromatic with large swatchs of unchanging shade.

I agree that the image is beautiful. It would be worth working if the puzzle shapes / cut were done well. The shapes were so similar that it is almost impossible to be sure of the correct connection in places—until or unless you suffer through checking all the pieces—and we did not. Therefore, I do not recommended getting any puzzles from Mattel. Level: Difficult.
