This is a concept book. It teaches the ABC's. This book would be great for preschool and kindergartens. When students are learning there letters this is a good way to introduce them and help students rehearse and remember them.

This book goes through each of the letters of the alphabet. Each letter gives words that start with the letter. There is also an example of a sentence that works with the letter many times within the sentence. The book also repeats the alphabet over and over.

I think that this book would be great for young students learning their ABC's. This is a good way to get them excited about learning their letters. This would be a good book for a read aloud after the students have gotten a basic understanding of the letters and how they work within other words. Once students have this understanding, this book would help them remember their letters and help them learn how to use letters in words. ( )

This is definitely not my favourite alphabet book, but it's still a cute example of Dr. Seuss's work. It's not surprising that Seuss would tackle an alphabet book at some point in his career, since no children's book author or illustrator has done it all without one, but after reading this example it is clear that Seuss's strength lies in his narrative or pure nonsense books and the box of the alphabet doesn't quite fit. There are plenty of his trademark rhymes in the text and a few of his imaginitive beasts, but the whole set doesn't quite hit the mark for me. Maybe he wrote this book too early, before his best ideas has been thought of, but I definitely feel like he wasn't quite as inspired by the alphabetic theme. ( )

From Aunt Annie's Alligator to Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz, this sturdy board book version of 'Dr. Seuss's ABC' is now available in a bigger trim size. With Dr. Seuss as your guide, learning the alphabet is as fun and as funny as the feather on a Fiffer-feffer-feff! -- GoodReads

It's an alphabet book, but with a great rhythm to it that is good for adults to read and kids to repeat. ( )

Seuss. (2017). Dr. Seuss ABC. London: HarperCollins.
This book is most appropriate for preschoolers. In this book the author poses the question of what words begin with each distinguished letter of the alphabet. On the next page the author then provides a tongue twister that helps with the repetition of the assigned letter. The pictures are inventive and engaging. The author goes all the way from letter A to letter Z.
