Nino wants to wear a mask at fiesta, but his parents tell him he must wait until he is older. He decides to learn how to carve his own mask so he can capture the Tigre and help his village. Colorful village images and lovely versions of traditional masks. ( ) Personal Response: This story was very colorful and very much illustrated with lots of masks of different creatures. This may be a little scary for some younger children because of the different masks which are part of the story. Curricular or Programming Connections: For Younger Readers Traditions of different cultures This is an excellent example of realistic fiction as it is the story of a young boy and his part in a traditional Mexican Fiesta, the Fiesta of the Tigre. The setting is extremely important in this book, which takes place in a small Mexican village which has the Tigre festival yearly and many of the village people know each other and work together. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
