This book was very slow and I forced myself to slog halfway through before giving up.This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. Very thrilling storyline to keep you on the edge of your seat. The author does a very good job of lining up the dominoes for us to knock over at the end.
It did take quite a while to get caught up in the story line, but once you are caught it really doesnt let you go til its over.
I probably wouldn't pick it up as a reread myself, but I would definitly suggest it to all of my friends. :)Sue it isn't you; it's me. This book was a fascinating turn on psychopathic killers, and good police work catching the bad guys. Once I got to the 2/3 mark and they started closing in on the bad guys, I couldn't put it down. It was just the slowwwwwwwww first two thirds of the book that I really hated drudging through. I will say I loved the story; didn't necessarily love the book. We could have trimmed a lot out of that first part and made the book drag less. This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. Wow! This book kept me on the edge of my seat! Intelligent, courageous women and strong male characters help create a story filled with thrills and non-stop action. This is the fourth book in this series and I had no problem reading it as a stand alone book. I’m now following the author on Goodreads and can’t wait to start reading the first book in the series! This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. "The Mermaid Broker" is an interesting story. The main characters in the book are reasonably well-rounded. Sue Hinkin provides just enough background information for the reader to understand the motivations behind the actions and behaviors of the characters throughout the book. The book was not well-edited, and there are quite a few grammatical errors. Cleaning these up would improve the flow of the story. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
Last seen heading out of Ventura Harbor with a SCUBA group bound for the Channel Islands, Santa Monica High School Marine Biology teacher, Isabelle Abbott, has vanished. Drugged, bound and gagged, she finds herself prisoner in the dark bowels of an underground aquarium complex. Once used by the military for marine mammal research, dolphins are no longer denizens of the big tanks. Instead, a menagerie of freaky razor-toothed predators including Piscum Auratus, a genetically engineered gold shark the size of an SUV, swims in psychotic circles. To her horror, Isabelle discovers that she and a group of traumatized young women have been trafficked to become mermaids for an international sex tourism ring working out of Southern California. They are only days away from being raped by men willing to pay huge sums for the mermaid experience. Worst of all, to eliminate her as a witness, when the tourists have had their sick fun, more obscenity follows. Isabelle will be tossed to the ravenous monsters in a snuff finale. Tenacious news reporter Bea Middleton and savvy photographer Lucy Vega, team with Ventura Detective Macintosh Wu. Can they stop the insanity before Isabelle and the others become nothing more than blood in the water? No library descriptions found. |
