( )Puts out wonderful theories about each story and revels in Holmesian speculation. Review: The Bedside, Bathtub & Armchair Companion to Sherlock Holmes by Dick Riley & Pam McAllister is an attractive book, engagingly written and profusely illustrated in black & white. The authors have done their homework, and their essays on, for instance, the British peerage, drug use and abuse, and Sherlockian parody & pastiche, are brief but often enlightening. They seem sound on Holmesian societies, though a few addresses might have been helpful.
