It explores what might happen if Hitler was never born and half of the novel is set in an alternate United States. ... I got Making History for Christmas, and had finished it by Boxing Day. It was a really good read - not quite what I would have expected from Stephen Fry, but very gripping.
Still plugging through War and Peace, but I got a lot of reading done over the holiday, so the end is in sight! Not ... ... always so good, though. I started reading Hitler's Willing Executioners on the basis of Fry recommending in his book Making History, but I thought it was terrible and gave up after 60 pages.

FAVORITE BOOK(s): My favorite all-time books are JRR Tolkein's The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings, nothing else even comes close, ... Some I liked more than others. I really liked his autobiography Moab is my Washpot and I liked Revenge and Making History. I thought The Liar and The hippopotamus were just OK.
I haven't read anything else. ... from the Black Writers series. This took a while to get as they only have one circulating in the NY public library.

10. The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards
The characters could have been more ... ... of Choice by John Birmingham, about a fleet from the future that ends up in WW2 as a result of a botched experiment, and Making History by Stephen Fry (which I will say nothing about because I don't want to spoil the plot).
Some other books you might want to check out: Years of Rice and Sal ... My favourites are The Children's War by J.N.Stroyar and Making History by Stephen Fry. I've read both of them several times. I would also recommend Under the Yoke and The Stone Dogs by S. M. Stirling (out of print I'm afraid) and Collaborator by Murray Davies. I guess I have a thing about ...
