The author cloud is a list of authors (sorted alphabetically by last name), with their font size relative to how many copies of their books are in a library (sometimes refered to as a catalog). Authors shown in larger fonts have more copies of books in a library than authors shown in smaller fonts.

[edit] LibraryThing Author Cloud

http://www.librarything.com/authorcloud.php shows the Author Cloud for all of LibraryThing - not every author of every book cataloged by every person, but the top 1000 (?) authors site-wide, sized by number of copies. There is a link at the top to your individual author cloud.

[edit] Individual Author Cloud

If the URL has the form /authorcloud.php?view=YOURUSERNAME, the tag cloud will show your personal author cloud, which includes all of the authors in your library. Authors you have listed as favorites show up with a yellow star by their names.

You can look at other people's author clouds by modifying the URL, or by clicking on the "author cloud" link from their profile.

Individual author cloud pages have a link to the LibraryThing Author Cloud. They also have the top navigation bar with links back to your profile, connection news, recommendations, reviews, tag cloud, tag mirror, author gallery, and stats.
