Beskrivelse: Located in Uptown Pittsburgh, James Simon’s sculpture studio hosts the Gist Street Reading Series. The Gist Street Readings are held monthly and feature local and national poets and writers. The series focuses on emerging writers either publishing in national journals and magazines or publishing their first or second books. The readings are unpretentious and fun.

Rusty Barnes grew up in Mosherville, Pennsylvania. He received his B.A. from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania and his M.F.A. from Emerson College. His flash fiction has appeared in many journals, among them Pindeldyboz, Salt Flats Annual, and SmokeLong Quarterly. He edits the literary journal Night ... (mere)Train. He lives in Revere, Massachusetts with his family. His flash fiction chapbook Breaking It Down was published in 2007.//John Rybicki’s latest collection of poems, We Bed Down Into Water, is out with Northwestern University Press. His other collections include Traveling at High Speeds and Yellow Haired Girl with Spider. He is currently Associate Professor of English and Writer-in-Residence at Alma College. The past few years he has been teaching creative writing (through Wings of Hope Hospice) to children who have gone through a trauma or loss. He lives in Delton, Michigan with his wife and their adopted son, Martel.
