The book you 'read' doesn't happen to be the one your wrote by any chance? Since that is still the only one you've cataloged... okt 29, 2009, 4:11pm (top )Message 3: christiguc>2 He's been sporadically spamming that book (that he wrote) ever since he joined the site. I know. readafew> lol.. that is actually pretty funny Rbarnes> You may get a better response by being upfront with people & just state you wrote a book due to your accident and would like to hear other stories as well. Also I think there are other posts for authors that you may have something in common with as well. Good luck. nov 3, 2009, 10:13pm (top )Message 6: rbarnes793023scrpo1027, thank you. I am trying to figure this website out. How and where can I post such things about me and the book I just published? Everywhere I go somebody say thses kinds of words about me. Take care. > 6 People say "these kinds of words" about you because you write posts pretending to be a neutral reader, in order to tout a book you wrote yourself. If you'd just be honest about it, people might not be so upset with you. And you might try the Writer's Brag and Rag Bag group, which was set up specifically for authors to brag about their own books. >6 Also, if you just participate in groups without talking about your book, people will click on your name and go to your profile. They can learn about your book there. LibraryThing members will take more interest in your book if they can see you as a participating member of the community rather than someone who is just here to advertise. Look around the site, read some topics, add more books. When you see a topic that interests you, join in. But don't talk about your book, or your messages will get flagged. You could also try giving a copy or 2 away through the member's giveaway section. =P nov 4, 2009, 9:00pm (top )Message 10: J_ipsenFurthermore sockpuppeting is not allowed. Creating a new account http://www.librarything.com/profile/lako... to write a second good review about your own book is sleazy at best. nov 4, 2009, 9:05pm (top )Message 11: gwernin10: and against the TOS at worst. nov 5, 2009, 11:39am (top )Message 12: StormRaven11: And worth flagging both reviews for. 6 and 8: What excellent and acceptable ideas!
