Om mig This bibliophile is currently 25 years old with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She has been writing fiction since middle-school and always enjoys adding books to her collection.

Om mit bibliotek Spartan, to my eyes. I've never had a lot of money for books, so a lot of these are left over from college where they were required texts. That also means that most of the books in my collection are ones that I would reread again, so I could afford to splurge on purchasing them.

There won't be a lot of ratings below 3 stars, if any, simply because I usually don't buy books before reading them at the library, and if I disliked them, I would not bother to add them to my collection.

I am twice your age, but after looking at your book list I see our reading tastes are similar (certainly not identical, but similar), even though technically this system says we share only one book! And I, too, work for state government, and am originally from Ohio. My philosophy on personal libraries are much like yours: Spartan simplicity, small & select. Sherlock Holmes (with a smathering of Margery Allingham), Tolstoy (I've yet to warm to Dostoevsky), British classics, etc. I've read Austen, but I think I prefer Mrs. Gaskell & George Eliot. I have not listed all the books & authors I have enjoyed in the past, just those titles I get a particularly strong kick out of. And I try to reread Strunk & White ever year.

Have you ever read Letters to Alice: On First Reading Jane Austen by Fay Weldon? A very interesting book ...

Congrats on your mature reading tastes.
Thank you for sending me to this website from the RUSS-L site. I see that you have at least one Dorothy Sayers book. Are you on the LordPeter group, by any chance? I've also noted with interest some of your Christian/theological books, including the Firebird trilogy. Lovely books, though I confess I haven't read them in ages.

Hey, now. We both belong to WDC, we're both 22 years old, and you have a BA in English (which I will have in 3 weeks!) AND we both own Bird by Bird. Could things get any stranger?
Hey there! Lovely library! And with Dostoevsky! And good old Strunk and White! :D
