Om mig I am a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Ireland - or the Covenanters as we are also commonly known. The congregation I belong to is Loughbrickland Reformed Presbyterian Church - www.loughbrickland.org - where we are ministered to by David Silversides. Mr Silversides' sermons are available at Sermonaudio - www.sermonaudio.com/ldrpc - where you may also find out information about his three publications, and mp3 c.d's of his sermons and lectures. I am currently working in a library as a librarian’s assistant; a job to which I feel very naturally drawn as a book lover and perfectionist.

With Gavin Beers - minister of the Ayr congregation of the Free Church (Continuing) - I run a blog called puritanismtoday - www.puritanismtoday.wordpress.com - on which we seek to apply the beliefs and practices of the Puritans to today. By doing this we hope to encourage an entire Biblical and Reformed worldview. Thus we advocate Christian education (particularly homeschooling), Biblical courtship, Scriptural masculinity and femininity, Reformed worship (including exclusive psalmody), Christian civil government, a positive Biblical culture, Presbyterianism, and much more.

Om mit bibliotek My library on this site has only begun and so is very incomplete, though I am adding to it regularly. At present I have approximately 1000 books in my library - though I have never accurately counted them.

Most of the books in my library were purchased from local Christian bookshops and James Dickson's secondhand book dealers in Glasgow. Of the history books however many were purchased while studying Modern History at the Queen's University (Belfast) - from their expensive bookshop. Amazon is now responsible for many of the additions to my library. In the near future Bibliophile books – www.bibliophilebooks.com – may become a considerable contributor also. May I particularly encourage U.K. book collectors to get James Dickson’s and John Gowan’s secondhand book catalogues - www.gowanbooks.com and www.jamesdicksonbooks.com – which are posted out three or four times a year. I still get my best books from these two sources.

My library is distinctly Reformed and increasingly classical; although other books of all kinds will appear here and there. There are a number of children's books in my library as I hope to marry, have a large family, and homeschool if God is so pleased. God-willing short reviews and recommendations will be added regularly.

I am an extremely slow reader, and often read a book two or more times.

I might just add that a great many of the books I have previously read are no longer in my library since I thought they were not worth retaining, or am waiting to get a better copy of. There are also a very large number of books that I have read some or even most of, which I have not rated until I finish them completely; this is especially the case with books from university. It is also the case for books that I began reading as part of a particular line of personal study. Therefore those books which are rated are the ones I have read from cover to cover.

I do hope you find my library interesting and useful.

Hi Gary. Long time no hear! Your library seems to be growing at a fair pace.

Edwin.
Hi, I was interested in what you have to say about Puritanism, it is not a term one hears much these days, what are your relations with the Catholic church and other churches?
53 Books!
2 corrections:
1) http://christianaudio.com/
2) Christian Audio also offered John Bunyan (_Pilgrim's Progress_) once as the free download in the time period mentioned, so 4 works by Reformed greats (Puritans, at that!)
Hey, I have seen your website before and then saw your name on here. I certainly enjoy the irish psalter of your congregation. I have a book by your pastor on the free offer of the Gospel. You must know my pastor over here across the pond, Rob McCurley in the Free Church? Hopefully I will be able to go over to Scotland in the future, D.V., after I finish seminary before I become ordained. The Free Church (cont.) pays for its ministers to go over there for a half year or so, and preach in the churches... Perhaps we will meet up in the future years from now,

Travis
