Om mig I'm 26, my daughter Carrie is 8, and my mother Carol is 52. This is our combined collection.

Om mit bibliotek These books are a combined collection of mine, my daughters, and my mothers.

My favorite series growing up, and now are the Baby-sitters Club, Ramona, Dragonlance, Dragonriders of Pern, and Harry Potter. I also love The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Certain books I re-read a thousand times (that's an exaggeration). I first read The Hobbit and LOTR when I was about 9. I've probably re-read LOTR at least 40 times (no exaggeration, but I've never counted, so that's my LEAST guess). I also re-read Harry Potter a ton. I re-read the Dragonlance main books a lot. My Ramona books are from my childhood, I've kept them, and The Baby-sitter Club books, well, I had so many that I keep picking them up when I find them so that I can have the entire collection. ;)

My mother, Carol, is currently into thrillers, and serial killers. Her favorite author, from what I can tell, is James Patterson. I've started reading some of her books. So far just James Patterson. The Dragonriders of Pern series, and Anne McCaffrey books were hers originally as well, but I've fallen in love with the world of Pern.

My daughter, Carrie, is 7, and reading is a requirement in school these days, big time. I come from a family that loves to read, but Carrie hasn't picked up on that trait yet, much to my disappointment. I'm constantly looking for books to try to interest her more, also ones that are in the Accelerated Reader program. I've started picking up the Baby-Sitters Little Sister books for her, and she likes those. She also likes Judy Moody, and Junie B. Jones. Lately she wants to read mostly dog books, and books that are far too difficult for her, like Black Beauty and Harry Potter, none of which she's managed to finish. ;) I tend to read whatever books Carrie's reading with her, and sometimes I pick up books I get for her and read them myself before she does. I like to know what she's reading. So I've now read a lot of kids books, my own from childhood, and new from Carrie. ;)

We're all kind of pack-rats, and therefore we have many many books leftover from my younger years, and even some that were my mothers as a child. Like the original Nancy Drew books, and Black Beauty, and several others.

Maybe I should try reading through everything, adult and childrens alike. I wonder how long it would take me? :)

cool!!!!!!!!! we have the same names.

but, anyways I think you might just have to wait for your daughter to grow up a little more for her to like books because when I was yonuger i hated book but then i started to read the Harry Potter books and i just fell in love with reading. so maybe wait till your daughter gets older or find her one great book so that she 'll want to read more and more.

Your daughter is so cute!! Baby-Sitters Little Sister was my favorite series at her age, I still have most of them.
Hello. I was browsing the books that your mom read and we have a lot of similar tastes (you won't find them in my library because I've used the local libraries for a lot of them). If she's looking for something new in the Patterson/Sandford/Kellerman genre I would recommend Dennis Lehane and Nelson DeMille (Plum Island, The Lion's Game, and Night Fall). Actually, all of Demille's stuff is good, but the 3 I listed are "continuing characters) and the books are quite entertaining.

We're the parents of 4 children, and have yet to find the magic touch to get them to read.

Bill
